Conditions and Dates to Remember for the Arts Collective Art Challenge 2017
Theme: “Togetherness” Artwork may be in any medium; must have sufficient hooks and be ready to hang Entry is open to Coromandel Peninsula residents. Overall maximum of 40 entries for this challenge. The selection of the artwork to be exhibited is the decision of the Whangamata Arts Collective Executive Committee and no further discussion regarding the selection will be entered into. One entry only per person, no multiples unless part of a triptych. Size of the artwork must not exceed 1.25m in width. Entry fee: $15 members; $25 non-members (including option of membership) All work must be the original, sole work of the artist and have been completed in the last 12 months. All artwork must be professionally presented and clearly identified – See tag example overleaf. All entered artworks must be for sale and must stay for the duration of the exhibition. Any item sold will attract 10% commission. This will be donated to a local charity. Entry forms must be submitted by January 1st. Hardcopy entry forms are available from Harcourts and may be sent with a cheque to: Gretha Whyte, 103 Ngatipu Place, Whangamata. Artworks must be delivered to Whangamata Memorial Hall on Friday 6th January, between 12 noon and 4pm. In the event of this not being possible, works may be sent (to be received by or before Thursday 5th January) by courier to: Arts Collective, c/o Karyn Hitchman, 1577 Waihi Whangamata Rd, RD1 Whangamata 3691. Please send sufficient return postage or courier tickets with you entry (these will be sent back to you if they are not needed Artworks must be collected at 4 pm on Sunday, January 8. If collection cannot be made in person please nominate someone to pick up for you. All risk, insurance, and courier costs are the responsibility of the artist.
